Let’s define part-time crunchy mama…

The definition of part-time as defined on dictionary.com is for only part of a usual day, or work week (you know referring to a part-time job). Now let’s define crunchy mama:

“In layman’s terms, a crunchy mom is a mom who practices natural living. She is an advocate of natural birth, non or selective circumcision, not vaccinating, baby wearing, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, cloth diapering, attachment parenting, homeschooling, organic and green living, etc.” According to a google query information found on this site voice box.com.

I like to refer to myself as a part-time crunchy mama because I do adhere to some of the normal crunchy AKA granola guidelines, meanwhile doing my own mama thing on the side. Let me give you an example: I am all about some natural child birth (yeah… had mine all planned out drug free and all and ended up with a C-section-details to come in another blog post), I had a baby girl (so circumcision wasn’t on my radar), but I would have had one done, now when it comes to vaccines I have done my fair share of research and we chose to do some vaccines, but not all (part-time vaccinator), I’m all about some baby wearing (own a Boba and Ergo), breastfeeding (also another blog post about how it is one of the hardest things I have ever attempted in my 32 years of living), co-sleeping (well didn’t originally plan on it, but hey this mama needs her sleep and now I’m addicted), cloth diapering absolutely (Bum Genius all the way), attachment parenting (to be honest I had to google that one and not sure I fit into that category), homeschooling (if I wasn’t working full-time as a teacher heck yeah I would homeschool), organic and green living are also part-time in our household. It’s kind of like this, I like to dabble a little bit into all of it and some things I am fully committed to and others I pick and choose.

In deciding to start blogging, I realized hey I have a lot to talk about when it comes to parenting, teaching, and just life in general. My opinions on my blog are strictly mine and I do support others opinions. I mean really everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and feelings. I will not impress my beliefs on you as long as you don’t expect me to follow your beliefs. So here’s to blogging. Please read and enjoy!
